Sarah Levy, a Chicago native who graduated from Northwestern University and the French Pastry School of Chicago, is sharing her talents and labors at Sarah’s Pastries & Candies. This charming pink and burgundy caf' (right around the corner from Le Colonial) is as close as you’ll come to France without the long flight.

Mark Levy may be the co-founder of Levy Restaurants, but his daughter Sarah is a gourmet chef claiming her own stake in the culinary world. Customers take a seat outside and indulge in her yummy creations like Chocolate Pecan Turtles, Coconut Almond Crunch Bars, and Royaltines. Inside, you’ll find chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate. (There are a few sugar-free options for the faint of heart.) Mouth-watering morning pastries, precious petit fours, captivating cakes, cute cupcakes, luscious lollipops, fabulous brownies, delicious cookies' the list goes on and on. Sarah’s chocolates have even been featured at Jim Belushi’s 50th birthday party. (They were so good, they even received a mention in his series According to Jim.)

Sarah’s Candies are also available at Whole Foods, Treasure Island, Intelligentsia, Sam’s Wines & Spirits, and several other locations, but nothing beats a visit to the quaint flagship store in the Gold Coast neighborhood.
