Dixie Kitchen and Bait Shop

Do you like Creole and Cajun food? Dixie Kitchen and Bait Shop in Hyde Park has just the thing for you.' No they don’t have bait there, but they have awesome oyster po’ boy sandwiches, pulled pork sandwiches and my personal favorite Jambalaya.' The food is authentic, not like a large restaurant trying to make everything.' They serve you up a healthy portion of food so you know that you will get your money’s worth.

The ambiance sets the scene as you enter into the restaurant.' You will see flea market signs and fishing items.' You will think you are in the South.' Actually they have more than one, but the Hyde Park restaurant is very, very popular.' Southern cuisine at it’s best.

Although you may not see him after January 20th at Dixie Kitchen, our 44th President Barack Obama loves the restaurant.' In fact he was was foodie on the show Check, Please! which will air on January 16th.'

Hey if it’s good enough for the President, then you should love it as well!

If you love spicy, cajun food then you have got to try it.' If you are in a big hurry, you can call ahead and get your Gumbo and Catfish to go.' Dixie Kitchen and Bait Shop Hyde Park is located at 5225 South Harper in the Harper Court next to the University of Chicago
