Spring Break in Chicago

It’s almost time for spring break. It’s funny that it doesn’t feel that way here. When it comes to spring break Chicago there are plenty of things to do. The temperatures will be up and down and the water from Lake Michigan may still be a little cold but Chicago has many activities. Here are a few that you may enjoy:

-Navy Pier has a ferris wheel and other great rides that will make you feel young. You can also play miniature golf or take out a boat. There is live music and fireworks every Saturday night.

-Adler Planetarium has solar system models and two planetarium theaters.

-Uncle Fatty’s Rum Resort promises to have the Ultimate Chicago Spring Break party on March 7, 2009. Spring break attire is needed. $35 for all you can drink. You will feel as if you were on the beach.

-Join the University of Iowa students as they participate in a project called “Alternative Spring Break in Chicago.” They have adopted Thomas Chalmers Elementary Specialty School on the southwest side.

- Check out the exhibits at the Art Institute Chicago. There are many things to discover.

-Children can enjoy Spring Break camp at the Chicago Botanic Garden where lots of fun indoor and outdoor activities are planned.

-Find other great activities listed on the Chicago’s 10 best places to visit list.

Chicago may not be what you think of when spring break comes around but there is plenty to do. Whether you are a college student or young student, spend time in Chicago. You don’t have to go to Florida or Cancun. Chicago has a variety of exciting things that can fill your calendar.
