When many people think about movies and filming, they often think of Hollywood in Los Angeles or New York, and rightfully so. But Chicago can't be left out, because it too has made a significant contribution to the film industry. So many great (and not-so-great) movies have been filmed here! I thought I would start documenting some of the best (and worst) flicks that have come through Chicago. If you're in town, be on the lookout for a few locations that you may have seen on the big screen.
Where should we start? Well, why not start with the obvious? Chicago! Well, unfortunately, the 2002 American musical from Miramax was primarily shot in Toronto. However, this flick is among my favorites, so I'd definitely recommend it to anyone interested. I'm not usually a 'musical' guy, but I thought this was done very well. (Gere could use a few lessons though.) Centered around two murderesses on death row together, the film explores celebrity and scandal during the Roaring Twenties. Chicago won six Academy Awards in 2003, including Best Picture.

I loved this musical! Great dancing, fun music, and a bit of wicked plot thrown in.
