This place only serves craft beer and wine– it is not your typical bar. It actually is more like a coffee house with an aquarium and board games stacked on shelves. There is a chalk board with their beers on tap and wine selection. There are beers on a lazy Susan that they do not have at the time, but you can vote to bring them back by putting in a glass pebble in the beer of your choice. The customers get to choose the beer menu! There are 20 beers on Tap, 41 in bottles and 22 in cans. It is certainly one of the best spots to drink craft beer in the suburbs and worth checking out.

Cuvee Cellars is half wine bar, half wine shop. With over 30 wines by the glass, it will be easy to find a new favorite. The wine list changes monthly, so you will always have something new to try. If you are hungry, you can select from one of Cuvee’s popular small plates: Artisan Cheese, Hummus, or Italian Meats. Besides wine, Cuvee Cellars also has a full bar and an extensive selection of micro-brews. There is live music on Saturday nights and seasonal wine tastings throughout the year.

This is a very cheerful and comfortable neighborhood bar that serves craft beer and upscale bar food. There are 11 beers on tap, 47 in bottles and 9 in cans. They even offer special Hard Root Beer. The food menu here is very eclectic. The chef used to run a food truck and now is cooking his amazing creations here. Their burger bar is unique in that it offers six different varieties for the burger such as Grass-Fed, Bison, Steak, Chicken, Turkey or Vegetarian and then it can be prepared in various ways.

Edelweiss carries some of the finest Bavarian beers in the world. They have 16 beers on tap and they are almost all German. A consistent balance of lagers, marzens, weisses, & dunkels. In addition, Lambic beers also are offered. Lambic beers mix natural fruits with imported ingredients.

This family-owned small cozy restaurant offers a unique combination of an eclectic and seasonal food menu, with a diverse wine list where most of the wines are either sustainable, organic, or bio-dynamic. Additionally they have a fun and local-centric craft beer list with 8 on tap and an extensive Scotch and whiskey menu. The coolest thing is the fact that it is attached to an art gallery, a salon and a wellness center. This is a great spot for date nights. Very unique.

This bar is located in Norwood Park, a western neighborhood of Chicago. It is a friendly neighborhood atmosphere. The extensive beer list features 130 plus constantly changing beers (12 of which are on tap). Their beer menu is organized by which state the beer comes from and for the international beers, what country they originated from. The food offerings are mostly sandwiches, burgers and small pizzas. While visiting you can enjoy a game of shuffleboard, darts, bags or Wii for free. You can even follow your favorite teams on one of the 10 TVs. On a warm day, one can sit on the rooftop deck that also has a huge TV.

Some say this is one of the best Polynesian Tiki Bars in the country. It is jammed full of tiki artifacts, leopard print lamps, giant turtle shells and thatched walls. This is the place to go for girls’ night out or for date night. There is an outdoor patio that is open during the summer with a garden and fountains. Folks come here more for the experience than the actual drinks. They have a massive menu of tropical drinks. Strictly drinks, no food. This is a one-of-a kind must see spot.

This is a local neighborhood bar that serves craft beer, whiskey and upscale bar food. They offer over 100 craft beers (Hop), as well has 24 on tap, and over 150 whiskeys (Scotch). They have $3 dollar whiskey shots. If you are not up to drinking too much, the food here is worth the visit alone. They offer a Build a Burger Bar with 40-plus toppings. Some of the best burgers in the area. Finally this is a great place for those following a gluten-free diet… offering both gluten-free food and drink. Great place to catch a game on TV and cheer your team.

Tannin’s is a warm and friendly little wine shop in downtown Elmhurst. This wine bar is a great place for a small intimate group or date night. If you are a novice and new to wine, they point you in the right direction and give you a little guidance. They also have craft beer, 3 on tap and 36 bottles. They welcome customers bringing in food from other restaurants since they do not offer food– except for cheese, crackers, and other small bites.

This is a cozy premium wine shop and modern tasting bar with over 25 wines for purchase by the glass every day. The atmosphere reminds one of being in a winery. All wines from the tasting bar are available by the bottle or case. They stock more than 600 of the world’s best wines; 200 wines under $12. There is a plentiful section of cheese, crackers, snacks and chocolate if you would like to nibble on something with your drink. Food from restaurants or home can be brought in– the owners do not mind. Do not forget to check out the many unique handcrafted beers, and small batch spirits.
