#1 Taste of Chicago
Our list could not start with any other festival, than the Taste of Chicago. With its over 35 year history of being the world’s premier food festival, this is one of those “bucket list” things that everyone should enjoy at some point in their travels to the city by the lake. With a list of food vendors a mile long, and the scenic backdrop of Lake Michigan, this is the festival to which all others are measured. Taking place in July, with musical acts like FUN performing, you had better make your plans now!

#2 Chicago Blues Festival
Another long-time festival, with 35+ years under their belt, The Chicago Blues Festival is another mainstay for the Chicago festival season. The event kicks off in early June at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. The festival then moves to Grant Park, and over the next 3 days have some of the most amazing acts from the blues and jazz industry. #3 Gold Coast Art Festival
The longest standing event on our list is the Gold Coast Art Festival. Celebrating over 60 years, this is another Chicago festival treasure, not to be missed. With booths containing artwork, live music, and delectable food, this FREE, yes we said free, event is located in Grant Park near the corner of Monroe and Lake Shore Drive. Late June.

#4 Wells Street Art Festival
The second art festival to make the list is another long-standing Chicago tradition. Located in the historic Old Town neighborhood, this festival features over 250 artist booths, tasty food selections, and an always toe-tapping music stage. Taking place in early June, check the website and mark you calendars now for this fun Chicago tradition.

#5 Chicago Pride Fest
Switching gears a bit, but still a highly regarded festival in Chicago is the Chicago Pride Fest. Kicking off 1 week prior to the famous Gay Pride Parade, this event is for everyone with an eclectic lineup of arts and crafts booths, food, and some of the city’s finest gay and lesbian performers. So, don’t let the name fool you, and make sure you check out this fun festival in late June in on N. Halsted Street from Barry to W. Irving Park.
