Romancing on The River

Valentine’s Day is all about love and River Roast invites couples (and singles) in to love a great meal and live music.  Shareable entrées, a romantic atmosphere, an array of wine and more make for a perfect intimate evening.  Plus, live blues music from a husband and wife duo during Blues & Brews Brunch is a lively way to say “I love you.”

The ideal spot for celebrating this love-themed holiday, River Roast’s signature roasted menu items are made for two.  The popular Whole Roasted Chicken, Big Fish, Roast Beef, Rack of Pork and the Boatload of Veggies are the stars of the menu, and are all shareable entrées, ideal for couples.  Diners can also choose from indulgent Valentine’s Day specials by Executive Chef John Hogan including:

  • Oysters Rockefeller ($18)
  • Dover Sole stuffed with Lobster Mousse and Lobster Sauternes Sauce ($52)
  • Roasted Venison with Savory Oatmeal Cake and Parsnip Apple Puree ($40)

Diners can explore the comprehensive wine list with crisp whites, smooth reds and various sparkling options for sipping amidst the cozy dining room’s mood lighting.  Plus, indulgent desserts will end dinner on an even sweeter note with items like lemon trifle and bittersweet chocolate pot au cream.

For a daytime affair, during River Roast’s Blues & Brews Brunch the weekend of Valentine’s Day (February 14th and 15th), the live blues music will feature Nick and Kate Moss, a husband and wife duo, and two of Chicago’s great blues players.  Chef Hogan, curator of the weekly live blues shows, invites music lovers in for a little romancing with this musical couple.  Blues & Brews Brunch takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
