Bicycle Tours
Looking for a new and different way to tour Chicago? Get a new perspective and even some exercise by seeing the city from a bicycle.
Bobby’s Bike Hike offers bicycle tours of Chicago, suitable for all ages and fitness levels. There are three different 7-mile tours available with a three-hour running (or should I say “biking”) time, and prices range from $25-$35. (Kids under 12 ride for $15-$20.) This price includes the bike and helmet rental, just in case you couldn’t fit yours in your suitcase. Locals, of course, are welcome to bring their own.
The two-wheeled tours will take you to all kinds of major attractions, and the guide will stop to tell you fun historical facts about each neighborhood and sight. Tour stops include Millennium Park, Buckingham Fountain, Soldier Field, popular neighborhoods, parks, beaches, Navy Pier, and even Oprah’s house! You’ll get a real feel of the city, seeing things you may not normally be able to while on foot or by car.
There are usually about 20 fellow bikers to a group, though private tours of up to 100 friends are available. The views and education are like none other. These bike tours are popular, so you may want to purchase your tickets in advance.
