The Chicago Traveler

Sports in Stock on the South Side

by Matt B on May 30th, 2007

Living on the north side of Chicago, I can tell you that there are more than enough places to buy Chicago Cubs souvenirs and memorabilia. But where do you go if you’re a Chicago White Sox fan?

Three blocks away from the White Sox’ home, U.S. Cellular Field, is Grandstand. Established in 1989, this family-owned business is the place to go for every White Sox product imaginable. The hats on display go from floor to ceiling. Current and former professional athletes come to check out the impressive selection of field gear, collectibles, autographs, sports apparel, souvenirs, memorabilia, and vintage reproduction jerseys (including the Cuban and Negro Leagues).

Don’t fret if you’re not a White Sox fan (though I wouldn’t mention that). The store also carries products from other Chicago teams, including the Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, and yes, even the Cubs. Grandstand also offers customized professional jersey lettering. All the services are “on-site,” so waiting time is kept to a minimum.

Whether you’re a casual fan looking for your team colors or a hardcore collector seeking that one-of-a-kind baseball card, you’re sure to find what you’re looking for.
