Perhaps one of the only things that competes with ice cream on a hot summer day is a large glass, or pitcher, of margaritas! For exquisite margaritas Chicago offers a great variety of quality options.

Best Margaritas Chicago Provides:

Las Palmas – Mexican / Latin American – $$
Las Palmas is a family run restaurant that offers a classy setting with a laid back atmosphere. Their house-made margaritas are top notch, and they even offer some pretty unique concoctions – pineapple jalape o margarita anyone? With indoor seating complimented by local artwork and an outdoor patio area, it is a great place to occupy during a hot summer day.

El Nuevo Mexicano Restaurant is the perfect place to meet friends to enjoy an ice cold margarita. In addition to being able to order a standard serving, they also offer the option to order it in a pitcher. With a nice variety of mixes, and the the addition of organic tequila, are great reasons to visit El Nuevo Mexicano Restaurant. Their outdoor patio is a must visit.

El Maya – Mexican – $$
El Maya is somewhat unique to this list. They prepare in-house margarita mix daily to assure the freshest, most satisfying drink possible. Along side their great margaritas and even fresh sangria – they are a BYOB restaurant. They do encourage you to show up with your own refreshments, but I suggest starting out dinner with at least one of their fantastic margaritas.

Mayan Palace Mexican Cuisine – Mexican – $$
Mayan Palace Mexican Cuisine takes pride in their food, but I feel like they may take even more pride in their margaritas. I do not blame them for that one bit. They have a nice selection of refreshing flavors, and an exquisite variety of premium tequilas. You may be hard-pressed to go anywhere else on Tuesdays or Thursdays; their margaritas are half-price!

Takito Kitchen – Mexican / Latin American – $$
Takito Kitchen is a very modern, art-deco inspired restaurant that offers a nice change of atmosphere when compared to traditional Mexican establishments. They offer traditional margaritas, as well as a few that will question your taste buds for a moment – in a good way. The spicy margarita with chili-salt and jalapeno is just one to name – the cucumber margarita is perfect if you are feeling less adventurous, but still want ultimate satisfaction.

Cafe El Tapatio – Mexican – $$
Cafe El Tapatio is a quality Mexican restaurant, with even higher quality margaritas. The upscale dishes are complimented very well by their jumbo sized margaritas. The Tamarind margarita is a unique option that I highly recommend trying out for yourself. I am guessing that the greater majority have yet to experience the wonders of the Tamarind fruit. For a great meal, and a hearty-sized margarita – look no further.

The outdoor patio is where you want to find yourself to enjoy the warm air, with a cold margarita offsetting it perfectly. They have standard size drinks, as well as their jumbo margaritas – that is no exaggeration either. Pitchers are available as well for group participation, or the very thirsty patron. They provide all the necessary flavors to satisfy your cravings.

Tecalitlan Restaurant is perhaps best known for their perfectly strong margaritas. They have a very nice selection that covers sweet and tart. They serve their margaritas in single servings to allow you to indulge in many different flavors, otherwise they have pitchers to share over good conversation.

Mercadito – Mexican – $$$
Mercadito is a fantastic venue that falls towards the upscale side of the spectrum. Their traditional margaritas are pretty tasty, but their specialty mixes are the reason to come here. How about hibiscus and red pepper for the perfect balance of spicy, yet fruity. The mango margarita will hit the spot if you are looking for something refreshing and fruity. For a classy night out sipping on margaritas Chicago style – make a reservation at Mercadito.
