Today is Thanksgiving Day, a traditional holiday celebrated by the U.S. every fourth Thursday of November to give thanks after the harvest season. Friends and family often gather for a festive and filling meal.
Catch the 74th Annual State Street Thanksgiving Parade today in the Loop, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at State St and Congress Pkwy. This spectacular event features marching bands, giant helium balloons, local theatre performances, floats, horses, dancers, and more. The parade travels north along State St to Randolph St.

Thanksgiving is perhaps my favorite holiday, but I can’t imagine putting together an entire holiday feast. If you want to leave the cooking to the professionals this Thanksgiving, make reservations at one of these restaurants that will be open on the special day (Nov 22).
