The Best of The Chicago Traveler 2007

It’s time to say good-bye to 2007. The year has treated me very well. I moved to a new apartment, did some traveling, and, best of all, began writing The Chicago Traveler! Many thanks to Mary Jo and everyone at b5media who has been so welcoming and helpful.

Steppin’ Higher

Steppin’ Higher

We’ve all seen boys and girls jump rope. But some young folks in Chicago Heights are doing it for more than just fun. They’re jumping in national tournaments!
Ropes turning and feet moving, the members of this double-dutch league are flying high and Steppin’ Higher. Ranging in age from 5 to 15 years old, these children not only practice the art of double-dutch, but they’re also getting the opportunity to socialize and meet new people. Kids get to travel and meet people from across the country and even across the globe.
Jumping double-dutch requires two rope turners and one or more jumpers. …read more
