I have found a place that you absolutely have to try. It’s called Sweet Escapes Eats and Treats. It’s located on 10402 South Kedzie Avenue across 103rd Street. We are talking Gourmet Cupcakes, Gourmet!!!! I think I would probably live there if they would let me. If you have a taste for sweets, you cannot beat it. They specialize in cherry cheesecake flavored cupcakes. In addition, they have children’s parties where the kids can decorate their own cupcakes – how fun is that!!! Mom alert ….great place for a birthday party or a party just because.

If you are not into sweets or maybe not right now, you can try something from the breakfast and lunch menus which include homemade breakfast sandwiches – not the drive thru variety with ham, bacon and eggs. Lunch menu features deli sandwiches which include chicken and tuna salad or roast beef, etc. There is something for everyone there.

Christmas Eve Pajama Family Story Time

Looking for family friendly things to do on Christmas Eve? The Chicago Public Library presents Pajama Story Time at 6pm South Shore 2505 East 73rd Street 60649. Crafts, Music and Games will be available. And the best part is that you can wear your jammies. There will be a Holiday Book Cover Contest for kids 3-18. Submit your entries to Ms Nicole by Dec 22 to enter. Call the branch at 312.747.5281 or stop by the Children’s Desk to register. The library will have refreshments. I hope there is hot chocolate, yum!

Lincoln Park Zoo

The annual Zoo lights is a neat thing being featured at the Lincoln Park Zoo. This is also Free. I can’t really describe this activity – you just have to experience it. Be sure and dress warm as its an evening/night time activity. It’s an absolute joy to see and if you have little kids, they will enjoy it as well. Post from: The Chicago Traveler
