Chicago has long been known to be a top producer of celebrities and famous people. There are hundreds of people that have lived in and made Chicago proud; however, many of these people were not born in Chicago. The Chicago Traveler has compiled a list of the Top 10 famous people that were born in Chicago.

#1  Bill Murray

This famous comedian was born in the North Side of Chicago and is one of the funniest people around. He gained exposure from Saturday Night Live and went on to star in films like Caddyshack, Groundhog Day, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, and most recently Moonrise Kingdom. He is an avid golfer so be sure to keep your eyes open on the Chicago links.

Do you enjoy a nice hamburger? Ray Kroc is the businessman that joined McDonalds and made it the restaurant chain that it is today. His savvy business strategy and Chicago roots helped him to conquer the fast food world.

What is Chicago without a little crime and gangsters? People like Al Capone made a mark in Chicago but were not born here. Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber, was born in Chicago and is one of the world’s most famous criminals.

    Jennifer Hudson, her husband the wrestler punk and Derrick Rose and Candace Parker which I didn’t know was from the Go. Kevin Garnett, Shannon Brown are from Chicago too. Jesse Jackson and Michelle Obama. R. Kelly and many more greats.
