The B5Media network:

Are you a Consignment Shopper?

Do you like to shop in Consignment stores?  I absolutely love to.  I used to turn up my nose to them because I really didn’t know what was there.  Imagine my surprise when I went for the first time.  I loved it.  There are so many great finds there.

Consignment is of course buying someone else’s product whether it is clothes or furniture.  Some stores will sell items for you for a percentage of the amount it sells for.  Others will pay for them outright and you really won’t know how much it goes for.  We all know about Goodwill and others like them who sell items that were donated.

A lot of times people just want items out of their house to make way for new.  There could be nothing wrong with the items.  At times you will even see that they haven’t been worn or have tags.

Consignment shopping is great when you have to work within a budget and even if money is no object.

You can find a sheared mink jacket to chip pepper denim jeans to snake skin stiletto boots.  Here’s the list of the Best Chicago has to offer. Interestingly enough, Chicago is known nationally for its consignment districts.

Elliotts (on Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Park)
McShanes Exchange (on Armitage Avenue in Lincoln Park)
Buy Popular Demand ( on North Halsted in Lincoln Park)
Cynthia’s (on Clybourne Avenue in Lincoln Park)
Selections (on Clybourne Avenue in Lincon Park)

Second Child (on Armitage) an upscale children’s consignment store

You can make a morning or afternoon of this since they’re all geographically in the same area.

Shop on!
