Lotions & Potions Are Good for Body and Earth

More and more people have been making a conscious effort to live “green.” The popularity of Chicago’s Green City Market is proof of that, as customers support local farmers and buy high-quality, organic foods. You can easily keep away from foods that put chemicals in your body, but what about the products you put on your body?

lotionsMany companies use animal byproducts, mineral oils, artificial colors, and harsh chemicals in their soaps, cosmetics, and lotions. In response to all this manufactured nastiness, Chicagoan Victoria Slone created Lotions & Potions. She has extensively studied the practices of aromatherapy, herbalism, and homeopathy and put together a variety of products that are good for your skin and for the environment.

For example, after cleaning up with some lily and cantaloupe foaming shower mousse, you can keep your skin hydrated with matching lotion. Or change it up with blackberry basil or pomegranate orange. Grab your tea tree and aloe deodorant and apply some vanilla bean lip balm, and you’ll be ready to take over the world.

Or at least be a lot nicer to it.
