Bonsoirée
“Foodies” can be pretty particular about their eating-out choices, as they look for that “something extra” in restaurants. Bonsoirée in Logan Square offers just that with an exclusive dining experience.
This subtle café and catering company serves up French and American delicacies. While it’s open to the public most of the week, every Saturday night they offer an invitation-only prix-fixe dinner, perfect for the true foodie with a sophisticated taste. They call it their “underground” restaurant. The menu changes weekly, and anyone can sign up on the website. However, only a limited number of people are chosen at random and e-mailed an invitation. The first 30 people to reply are treated to a delightful 5-course meal.
The best part of the whole thing is the BYOB policy. Along with the invitation e-mail is a menu for the event. You’ll have plenty of time to pick out your favorite wine to bring to and pair with the dinner. And because it’s invitation-only, you won’t have to worry about waiting for a table. The restaurant is already cleared out before the special guests arrive, and everyone eats at the same time, so all the guests share the experience. The small dining area makes it very easy to meet and converse with other food connoisseurs at other tables. The service is excellent, as the chef actually has time to come out and serve you the courses himself.
After the great food and warm friendliness, you’ll want to come back week after week for this one-of-a-kind experience. However, you’ll have to cross your fingers and hope you’ll be invited again.
