The Silver Room in Wicker Park (just a block away from People Lounge) offers an eclectic collection of bracelets, toe rings, anklets, stones, chokers, earrings, body jewelry, men’s chains, belly chains, necklaces, rings, bangles, and more. Many of the one-of-a-kind creations come from local designers. Jewelry enthusiasts will have a hard time walking out empty-handed as the friendly staff helps them pick out a piece that is just right. Need a place to put that new body jewelry? A professional piercer is available by appointment. You can even star in your very own photo shoot with your new bling in the store’s old-school photo booth.

This jewelry shop with a bit of an urban feel also carries a wide variety of accessories, including Kangol hats, sunglasses, and Yak Pak bags. The selection is always changing, so don’t be surprised to find things like designer pens, lighters, or cufflinks. If you want to keep up with the fashion scene, the Silver Room has a magazine rack full of titles that cover music, politics, and fashion.

Finally, the store also serves as an incredible music venue, as a multitude of performers and DJs have held their CD release parties here. The annual free block party is a neighborhood event not to be missed.
